Unit 3: Characters in Fiction, Fables - Focus on Central Message/Moral
Readers have been studying fiction stories in a new way. They have been thinking deeper about the characters in these stories and the lessons that they learn. They have been comparing and contrasting characters from different stories, noticing how their traits, actions, feelings and problems are similar and different. Students need to know that the CENTRAL MESSAGE of a story is the lesson or moral that the author wants readers to learn from the story.
Solar System Unit
Students will be learning about the Solar System in our next science unit. They will be learning about the eight planets, cycles of day and night, and how the earth rotates and revolves. Students will be completing an AT HOME project for this unit. We will send home more information on Friday, January 12th.
